GcvR gene
The GcvR gene encodes the glycine cleavage transcriptional repressor. This negatively regulates the activity of the GcvA transcription factor, thus suppressing the expression of genes found within the glycine cleavage operon. It does this by binding to GcvA, preventing GcvA to bind to a promoter region e.g. gcvBp promoter.
